ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR CREDENTIAL COURSES (CAM, NALP, CAPS, CAS)
No more than 1 absence/1 module will be allowed for any reason for CAM students.
NALP, CAS and CAPS, all classes are mandatory.
If a student misses more than 1 individual CAM class, the student will be required to take the module(s) during the next scheduled class offering.
The student will also be required to pay, up-front, the pro-rata share ($25.00/per module) for the class missed. If more than 2 classes are missed, the student will not be allowed to “test out” of these classes.
No final exam may be taken by students not adhering to the attendance policy.
CERTIFIED APARTMENT MANAGER (CAM) SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL
NAA has put together a self-assessment tool for students interested in taking the CAM course. This tool will give you an idea of the course curriculum and the knowledge level needed to complete this course successfully, without frustration.
At the end of the assessment, it will tell you whether you are ready to take on this course.
Please remember - even if the results indicate that you are not ready, that doesn’t mean you cannot take the course; that will be up to you. This tool will help you decide and be prepared and aware of the importance of attendance, participation, and learning the many facets of managing a property.

So that our instructors can get to know more about you prior to class, we will request a personal bio that tells us about your property management experience, past and present and what your future goals are.
STUDY AND ARRIVE AT CLASS PREPARED WITH QUESTIONS
Attending this class is just like attending a college course. It’s important that you review the curriculum prior to each class and be sure to ask questions if you need clarity.
Classes are interactive as well. The format and atmosphere allow students to discuss issues and situations they are confronted with daily.
Instructors are all volunteering their time and expertise to the association and industry.
CREATE YOUR PERSONAL FILE TO HOUSE YOUR CREDENTIAL INFORMATION
Keep everything, including your student ID number and password in a safe place.
YOU MUST OBTAIN CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS EACH YEAR
Beginning the next calendar year after you complete the course and exam, you will be responsible for maintaining and providing proof of continuing education credits each year.

The National Apartment Association (NAA) will send you renewal forms in October of each year. A renewal fee each year, payable to NAA is required as well.
To earn CECs, all you have to do is attend 2 or more of SLAA’s 3-hour educational seminar hosted each year.
WHAT TO EXPECT AND/OR BRING TO CLASS EACH DAY
- On the first day of class you will receive your student book.
- Students are expected to review course material prior to each class
- Students are expected to come prepared to ask questions and participate in group discussions
- SLAA will provide light snacks, water and soda.
- Proctored exam dates will be determined for each respective course by the proctor and students.
THEN ENROLL IN THE CAM COURSE BY THE DESIGNATED DATE COMMUNICATED FROM THE SLAA OFFICE. SEE INSTRUCTIONS AND LINKS BELOW.
Step 1: If you have never obtained a User ID and Password before, you must Create an Account. After you created an account, you will receive a confirmation via email only and please make note of your NAA ID. You must have a valid email account and have access to it.
Step 2: Once you have received your User ID and Password, go to Your Account Page and choose "Enroll in Program" to being the Credential Enrollment process. If you are a candidate for online credentials, be sure to select " Online" as the course sponsor on the enrollment form.

Located 1.5 miles west on Olive from Hwy 270 in Fern Ridge Office Park, across the street from Bank of America. When traveling west on Olive, you will pass a Walgreens, then a Burger King. Go past the Burger King, and you will turn right on Fern Ridge Office Park, then an immediate right into the first parking lot entrance. Go straight to the building ahead. You will see a sign for St. Louis Apartment Association.
